There are tropical storm, hurricane, and coastal flood watches and warnings. A watch implies that conditions are favorable within the next 36 hours. A warning means the storm is expected within 12 or 24 hours. Prior to a storm ensure that you have plenty of non perishable food, that doesn’t need to be cooked, water, working flashlights and radios with batteries, a full tank of gas, well charged cell phones, if possible extra cell phone batteries.
